2018
Lip stinger

Grenache Blanc Blend | Yakima Valley | French Creek Vineyard

With Grenache Blanc behind the wheel, this classic Southern Rhone-inspired white blend, with its luscious texture and fresh acidity make it quite possibly the most perfect glass. Whiffs of apricot and honeysuckle transform, revealing an underbelly of ripe pear and apple. Grill up a meaty tuna steak or Dungeness crab, pour a glass of the Lip Stinger and enjoy a made-for-each-other pairing.

92 POINTS, WASHINGTON WINE BLOG
"The 2018 ‘Lip Stinger’ has been transformed into a blend of 57% Grenache Blanc with smaller portions Roussanne, Viognier, Marsanne, Clairette and Picpoul. Honeydew melon tones combine with shades of roasted almond and green apple that mingle in the glass. The palate has a soft mouthfeel and a long, gratifying finish. This is really good stuff that will cellar well over the next seven years. Drink 2020-2026. 92 points."
19/20 POINTS, RAND SEALEY
This co-ferment of 57% Grenache Blanc, 15% Roussanne, 11% Viognier, 4% Clairette and 3% Picpoul shows a brilliant lemon-gold color and attractive aromas of Asian pear-apple, white peach, grapefruit, Crenshaw melon and a hint of papaya, with scents of apple blossoms, honeysuckle, jasmine, white pepper and spiced white incense. The flavors, as well, are striking, with vivid white fruits that are imbued with peach stone, grape and pear skins, sassafras tea and Missoula Flood minerals. The back picks up notes of nougat, pêche liqueur, melon rind, grapefruit peel and touches of lemon custard and hazelnuts, followed by a lip stinging, persistently crisp and minerally finish.
