The Walls Vineyards

The mission of The Walls is, of course, to make stellar wines with distinctive profiles.

We do so with our minds on sustainability.

Being responsible members of our community just makes our wines taste that much better.

Tote Bags

Our bags are made from unbleached certfied organic cotton. These are made in the U.S.A. Individually cut, hand-stitched and screen-printed at our plant in New Hampshire, our tote bags designed to produce as little waste as possible.

Diam Origine Corks

According to Diam, “The concept of Diam closures emerged from this idea: purifying cork through a natural process to eliminate the molecules that can affect a wine’s taste. The cork industry contributes considerably to maintaining our oak forests and to the economy of the cork-producing regions of the western Mediterranean and Europe’s southern Atlantic seaboard. Moreover, unlike alternative types of corks, our Diamant® system of cork purification uses very little energy. After many years of work, Diam Bouchage’s research and development teams have perfected a binding agent composed of 100% bio-based polyol, from a totally renewable source. Our stoppers will thus benefit from an innovative ingredient, exclusively of plant origin.”
Upon purchasing our facility we set right to work upgrading it to be powered as responsibly as possible. Making wine takes a lot of energy — and not just people power!

The first thing we did was to invest $200,000 in solar technology, and now the roof of our winery is lined with solar panels which absorb the energy of Walla Walla’s famous sunny days and transform them into power.
Below you can see a live feed monitoring the energy created by these changes.

To give you an idea of the impact, saving 100 tons in CO2 emissions is the equivalent of planting almost 5,000 trees!
